Thursday mornings equate to Little Gym classes for Liya. This week, Liam was on vacation and came with us. This is the same place he had gone to just about 10 years ago. The same 2 teachers are there, Birgitte and Dana, everything still looks pretty much the same all the way down to the smells. Liam said memories kept flooding back when he was there today.
Having Liam there was great, as I was able to bring out the camera and take a few photos. Liya was way more excited than usual, showing off to her brother.
comme dirait Mamie “ou est mon petit cafe?”
Big changes coming with Liam going to middle school. We did quite some extensive research and considered all of our options (public and private) and we decided that the best would be to have Liam accepted at International. Of course easier said than done since to enter you have to make it through a lottery. This year they received just a little under 800 applications for only 81 spots available.
We submitted Liam’s registration and yes! Liam’s number -613- was pulled out of the “hat” and he will be going there next year.
We are immensely happy. International has a 7 year long curriculum (it is a middle/high school combined). “The International School strives to offer the best comprehensive secondary education in the United States. It provides a unique focus on the phenomenon of globalization and actively teaches the principles of global citizenship. The school takes a leadership role in education in developing the most integrated and effective curriculum in all academic areas. It also provides the most nurturing and supportive learning community involving students, parents, faculty, and administration.”
They also have a Robotics club and an FLL Lego League! (Liam is really excited about that and many other things that the school has to offer).
Congratulations Liam!
